A coastal paradise with breathtaking views
How one town can have such a variety of coastal wonders amazes me.
If you are looking for a relaxing road trip, Kiama is just under two hours from Sydney, NSW. It is well known for its stunning beaches perfect for a swim, to catch some waves or even to just admire as you have a picnic on the grass. If you’re lucky enough, you may find yourself spotting some whales during the months of May to November.
Kiama has many attractions and activities that will make a weekend getaway feel like a vacation.

Bombo Headland Quarry
This location transports you onto another planet, just look at those rocks! Formerly a quarry, it is now a site for the public to explore and capture its natural beauty. Great spot for those who dabble in photography. The walk from the parking lot to the headlands is a short 10 minute walk with extraordinary views along the way.

Kiama Lighthouse, established in 1887
Nothing like a lighthouse pic to make the trip more touristy, right?
Not only do you get the treat of seeing this historical piece, but right next to it is the famous Kiama blowhole (as seen in the video). It’s a two for one win! There is plenty of parking spots but the great thing about Kiama is everything in the main town is within walking distance for those who like to explore on foot.

Do you enjoy window shopping? Terralong Street in Kiama has a variety of boutiques, book shops, toy stores, you are bound to find some unique items. This Main Street has cafés, restaurants and the famous ice creamery. It’s a beautiful spot to enjoy some delicious food after you have spent the day sightseeing.
I am sure this won’t be the last of our Kiama coverage as there are countless of activities and locations yet to discover.
