Byron Bay

“The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams.”

Oprah Winfrey

When we think of travel and holidays, we think of destinations far from home. The first thing that I pictured when someone said “let’s book a holiday” was a lot of luggage, a plane ticket to an overseas location and lots of spending money. What I actually learnt these past couple of years is that this is far from necessary. The best travel memories one can have are filled with people who bring you joy, experiences and overall having a great time.

A girl’s trip was the topic of conversation between my friends for a while and as we finally decided dates and a location, a pandemic had other plans for us. We could only travel within our state so Byron Bay was the place to go. Having had to push back our long awaited trip we made sure we had everything covered for when the time came.

Our trip consisted of a four day getaway. We researched restaurants and were specific on cuisines cause you don’t want to be eating the same food everyday, unless you absolutely love Italian then go for it! Here are some of the places I would recommend.

  • Karkalla was the first stop as we arrived from the airport, delicious and healthy meals.
  • Balcony Bar & Oyster Co. had a variety of dishes from pasta to seafood, something for everyone. Plus its great for them instagram pics.
  • Trattoria Basiloco was delicious! An Italian restaurant that did not disappoint. It felt so cosy, I definitely recommend you check it out.
  • Loft Byron Bay is the definition of a beach holiday paradise. It is aesthetically pleasing and the cocktails are pretty nice too.
